As a public service, we proudly provide military escorts to active military service members as well as deceased military veterans to honor our veterans and active military.
Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes we are authorized to facilitate the following types of military escorts:
Military funeral escort to and from the funeral service to the final resting place of the body of a deceased member of the United States military or a deceased veteran of the United States military.
Military escort for a member of the United States military who is being deployed or who is returning from deployment. (i.e. to/from residence or military base to/from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport)
Military escort for a person who is being honored at a military event.
Military escorts help control the flow of traffic to permit the military procession to carry on as planned. To serve as a funeral escort, our drivers are registered with and permitted by the sheriff’s office and have specifically equipped vehicles, so that they may lead or assist in military processions. Per Arizona Revised Statute 28-776, military escort vehicles have the right of way in any traffic situation just like emergency response vehicles. Our funeral escort vehicles display red/blue flashing lights with an activated siren and are operated by an NFEA certified escort driver. We have the legal authority to stop the flow of regular traffic. All other non-emergency vehicles on the road, as well as pedestrians, must yield to military processions and their escorts.

What does a military escort look like?
Military escorts defer from the usual funeral escort since they don't always consist of a funeral escort and instead may involve the escort for a member of the United States military who is being deployed or who is returning from deployment (i.e. to/from residence or military base to/from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport). Our military escort vehicles are unmarked SUV's equipped with front, side, and rear red/blue emergency vehicle lighting and siren. Unlike non-military funeral escorts that are required to have the word "funeral escort" affixed to the escort vehicle, military escorts are not required to display any vehicle signage. We may use two to six escort vehicles in a military escort depending on the number of vehicles taking part in the military procession.
Who are the military escort drivers?
Our funeral escort services are provided by professionally trained drivers with current training certifications from the NFEA. Additionally, each of them has obtained permits from each county’s sheriff's office. Many of them are former members of law enforcement, emergency services, and the military. They’re trained to help direct and control the flow of traffic while ensuring the safety of all vehicles in the procession.
Are your escort drivers licensed and insured?
Yes, our drivers are properly insured and have the appropriate permit granted by the sheriff to lead a procession and interrupt the flow of regular traffic. Drivers are trained to direct traffic at each intersection to permit the procession to come through. Per Arizona Revised Statute 28-776, military escorts must have a red/blue light on their vehicle in order to lead the procession.
